Mineral Wells ISD School Board

Our school board is dedicated to fostering an environment where every student can achieve academic excellence and personal growth in a safe and supportive setting.

As elected representatives of our community, we are committed to making informed decisions that shape the future of our schools. Our responsibilities include:

  • Policy Development: Crafting and implementing policies that promote high educational standards and equity.
  • Budget Oversight: Ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support student learning and well-being.
  • Superintendent Supervision: Collaborating with and providing oversight for the Superintendent to ensure the district's strategic goals are met.
  • Curriculum and Instruction: Evaluating and approving curricula that meet the diverse needs of our students and prepare them for future success.
  • Facilities Management: Overseeing the maintenance and improvement of school facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, students, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.

Our mission is the MWISD Board is dedicated to providing the highest quality education for every student. Our trustees are entrusted with making crucial decisions on district priorities, policies, personnel, curriculum, expenditures, and growth management. The board is committed to maintaining and operating all schools efficiently and responsibly, adopting budgets, levying taxes, and proposing bond issues to the community for funding essential projects.

The Mineral Wells ISD Board of Trustees encourages community involvement and welcomes the public to attend both regular board meetings and board workshops. These meetings provide an opportunity for community members to stay informed about district initiatives, observe the Board's decision-making process, and learn more about the work being done to support our students and schools.

Both regular board meetings and board workshops are held at the Mineral Wells ISD District Services Complex,

Meeting Locations

 

  • Regular Board Meetings are held in the Board Room and begin at 7:00 p.m.
  • Board Workshops are held in the District Services Complex Common Area. Workshop dates and times vary and are posted with the meeting agenda.

 

Meeting Information

 

  • Regular Board Meetings are typically held on the second Monday of each month and include official Board action and opportunities for public comment.
  • Board Workshops are scheduled as needed to provide trustees with opportunities for in-depth discussion, planning, training, and informational presentations. Workshops are open to the public and generally do not include public comment unless noted on the agenda.

 

Members of the public who wish to address the Board during a regular meeting should review the meeting agenda and Board policies regarding public comment and participation.
