Mineral Wells ISD is excited to expand a 1:1 Chromebook initiative this coming school year where students in Junior High and High School will be assigned a Chromebook laptop to use at school and at home. The purpose of this educational initiative is to provide access to resources and tools to meet the needs of 21st century students, engage students, and provide the opportunity to do work that was previously not possible without greater access to a computing device.
This program began in January 2018 with 8th graders.
The roll-out is expanding for the 2018-19 school year to include all students grades 7th - 12th.
Before receiving a Chromebook, parents and students must sign the MWISD device agreement form and submit the device fee payment. The device agreement form will be automatically included in the online registration forms.
The device fee is $25.00 per year. The device fee covers accidental damage, lost or stolen devices, and if the device is functioning properly. Please access the link above for more specifications on the coverage. Payment can be made in person at your child's campus at the time of pick-up.
Please be looking for more information from your school as we get closer to the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. Our plan is to distribute Chromebooks shortly before school starts.
