Mineral Wells ISD will provide free breakfast and lunch to all students in the district for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school year. This expands a policy that normally only provides free and reduced-cost meals based on a family's income. The district change eliminates the need for free and reduced-price meal applications and collecting payment for basic student meals. Mineral Wells ISD said it's able to provide the meals for the school year thanks to a federal program through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This new approach reduces burdens for families and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals. Add-ons and other snacks will still be available for an extra cost.
