Lamar Elementary Pre-K/Kindergarten & 1st Grade New Student Registration

A familiar rite of passage will begin on Thursday, April 12, 2018 for Lamar Elementary. It will be the first official day to register children for pre-k and kindergarten. This year registration is taking place at Lamar Elementary, 2012 S.E. 12th St, Mineral Wells. Registration hours are from 9:00 am -6:00 pm at the campus. No appointment is necessary.

Athletics Physical Day April 16th at MWHS Main Gym

The MWISD Athletic Physical Day is on Wednesday, April 16th from 4:00 pm-5:45 pm in the Mineral Wells High School main gym. This is for Incoming 7th, 9th, and 11th Grade Athletes that are participating in UIL sports. The cost is only $10. An optional $5 Baseline Concussion Testing sign-up application will be offered. Payment is due by April 16, 2018. Actual concussion testing will be announced at Physical Day.

Information for Planning Your High School Years & Beyond

Students can earn one or more endorsements as part of their graduation requirements. Endorsements consist of a related series of courses that are grouped together by interest or skill set. They provide students with in-depth knowledge of a subject area. Students select endorsements in the ninth grade. Students earn an endorsement by completing the curriculum requirements for the endorsement, including 4th credit of math and science and 2 additional elective credits. Students may earn more than one endorsement. Current 4-year endorsement plans are attached below. Please visit the school counselor to learn more about available options.

School Bus Safety Superhero Celebration Winners Selected for 3rd Six Weeks

The MWISD Transportation Department is “rolling out a red carpet” for students who show good character, are always careful to stay out of the “Danger Zone” around the school bus, and have the courage to report bullying. Each driver selects a student that exhibits exceptional qualities of a safe bus rider. Every six weeks, these model riders from an individual campus are rewarded with a celebration party. The bus drivers will nominate students on their buses who are ready, responsible and respectful as a Mineral Wells Ram every six weeks.

When fundraising is combined with individual donations and leadership giving, Mineral Wells ISD has raised more than $48,000 for the 2017-18 United Way of Palo Pinto County campaign.
