Website Software Update(update 9-7-11)
The web page software upgrade is now complete. For the first time in several weeks everyone can start editing sites again. It is going to look a little different but basic functions are the same. If you have questions don't hesitate to ask.
On our homepage in the lower left hand corner there is a link to a page that includes several helpful downloads.

The Section Editor Handbook, which is the role of anyone assigned to edit a section has, explains the actions most users have rights to perform. There are also Help Cards that are cheat sheets with the bare basics. You might want to print them and keep near you as you edit your page.
As you work in SchoolWires C2 at the top of the screen to the right is a helpful tab marked, "How do I...?" Click here for links to help articles, tutorials and other information. If you can't find an answer here or the explanation is unclear contact me.
During the period when permanent changes could not be made many users made changes that were merely temporary. When you spot one of these please contact me and explain where and what and I will re-post as quickly as I can.
With change always comes a period of adjustment. Working together I think all of us will discover in the long run that new version works better than the previous one. Other districts claim that period of transition went smoothly and that most users needed no exclusive instruction or training.
SchoolWires has uploaded and converted the first data pull from our websites. Currently the final data pull and the completion of the switch are scheduled for, August 22, the first day of school.
ESC11 and SchoolWires have assured me that users/editors can make changes to our current website and these changes will be included in the data pull on the 22nd.
Campuses and teachers can make whatever changes on the website you want between now and Saturday the 20th. You should not have to do your work over. I verified this with 3 separate people.
Basically what it means is that everyone can get their sites ready before the start of the school year if they want to. Anything changed after the 20th won't carry over. Once our new site goes live, users will be able to edit the new site.
Our current webpage will be accessible and available to viewers until the new site goes live.
To repeat:
You can make changes on the website until Saturday, August 20. After that you will be unable to edit and save content until sometime the week of Aug. 22nd.
We will send out an announcement when users/editors can begin accessing our new site.
There is a link under announcement to information on C2, the upgraded software.
No changes can be made on the website after August 20nd until we are notified.

The first documentation we are sharing may seem daunting to begin with. It is detailed and without the new version of the site up it might seem confusing. It is suggested you read them in the order they are posted only so you don't overwhelm yourself.
The first document explains what is new in C2. It is merely an overview of changes without any instructions.
