Gifted & Talented Program

Mineral Wells ISD offers a comprehensive Gifted and Talented Program for qualifying students in kindergarten through twelfth grade as required by the state.

MWISD’s Gifted and Talented Program strives to organize curriculum and instructional strategies which provide challenging, differentiated content, intellectual processes, student products and research that meets the unique needs of the gifted learner and enriches learning for all students.

Elementary gifted students are served within the regular classroom setting.  Pre-AP/AP, Dual Credit courses, Independent Study in English and Destination Imagination address the needs of gifted secondary students.  Secondary students are required to participate in at least one Pre-AP/AP, Dual Credit and/or Independent Study in English course each semester.
