Homebound

Homebound special education services are for medically determined illnesses (form completed by an MD licensed to practice in the U.S.) Homebound Services provide certified teachers for one-to-one instruction in the student's home. Lessons and exams are provided by the student's classroom teacher(s) to ensure that similar content is provided. Services are available to students who are unable to attend classes due to long-term medical conditions. Eligible students served on a homebound basis are expected to be confined for a minimum of 4 consecutive weeks as documented by a licensed physician. Homebound services are also provided to chronically ill students who are expected to be confined for any period of time totaling at least four weeks throughout the school year as documented by a licensed physician.
