Community & Student Engagement/ Compliance

Performance in Community and Student Engagement; Compliance

House Bill 5 added a new category of accountability that is locally determined and is generally referred to as Performance in Community and Student Engagement; Compliance. The District and each campus has collaborated with district personnel and the Educational Improvement Councils to develop evaluation criteria in each performance area and assign a rating to each and an overall rating for each campus and the District. The Educational Improvement Council is comprised of school personnel, parents, community, and business representatives.

Each criteria is rated Exemplary, Recognized, Acceptable, Unacceptable or Not Applicable. The District must report the ratings to TEA and make the ratings publicly available by Aug. 8 of each year.
Performance ratings are based on the following programs at each campus:

 Fine Arts
 Wellness And Physical Education
 Community And Parental Involvement
 21st Century Workforce Development
 Second Language Acquisition
 Digital Learning Environment
 Dropout Prevention Strategies
 Gifted And Talented Program

Performance ratings are also based on the record of the district and each campus regarding:

Compliance With Statutory Reporting and Policy Requirements
The Community/Student Engagement and Compliance Rating and the Financial Accountability Rating System (FIRST) will be reported alongside the district and campus Academic Performance Ratings.
