Dr. James R. "Ronny" Collins
Superintendent of MWISD Schools
This is Dr. Collins' second year as Superintendent of Mineral Wells ISD and 32nd year as an educator. Since Dr. Collins has been in MWISD, the school district and all campuses have earned "Recognized" status. This was the first time in eight years that the district received this rating. This truly illustrates the hard work and dedication of all the MWISD staff.
Prior to coming to Mineral Wells, Dr. Collins served 18 years as a superintendent at Wellington ISD, Jacksboro ISD, and Snyder ISD. During his superintendency, his districts have been rated "Recognized" eight times and "Exemplary" twice.
Shortly after being hired by MWISD, Dr. Collins was recognized for being selected as the 2008 Region 14 Superintendent of the Year. Dr. Collins was one of 15 regional winners that were nominated for the annual Superintendent of the Year award sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards.
Dr. Collins received his Doctorate from Oklahoma State University and Master and Bachelor degrees from Tarleton State University.

His wife, Terri, is a 5th grade teacher at Travis Elementary. They have two sons and two daughter-in-laws. They also have a grandson and granddaughter.
