PProgram Goals
The Mineral Wells Independent School District gifted program strives to equip students to:

Develop and use critical and creative thinking skills in advanced content; |
|
|
Develop skills that allow students to create and express self-directed learning and thinking through research and communication; |
|
|
Develop and present innovative ideas and products of high quality effectively; |
|
|
Develop leadership skills that will allow for collaboration and problem-solving in group settings; |
|
|
Develop respect and understanding for self and others, enabling students to function as productive citizens. |
Mineral Wells Independent School District remains committed to developing new strategies in an effort to:

Ensure students quality instruction by providing effective, on-going professional development for all Advanced Placement (AP) and G/T teachers; |

Challenge students academically through rigorous and relevant coursework; |
|
|
Encourage students to explore their individual interests by offering an array of learning opportunities through Pre-AP/AP, Dual Credit and Independent Study in English options. |
